| The Story of Viola Formica Once upon a time, there was a girl named Sena Jane. She played the violin. Her life's work was teaching other people how to play too. She loved the violin very, very much. She played for countless weddings and other celebratory events. She strolled and bowed. She played on CD's for many talented musicians. She even played fiddle in a few bands: Blue Velveata, AnahadaNada, The Urban Hillbilly Quartet, Dessert Rhythm, Den, and Semiconductor. But she had a secret life: another girl who lived inside and loved to sing and compose songs, playing guitar and piano... In the autumn of `04, enter Viola Formica. After acquiring a beautiful old Hobart M. Cable upright grand piano, it became clear that the violin-playing girl could not contain her secret any longer. Viola would not leave her alone. Viola made her stage debut in January of `05 at the Kitty Cat Klub in Minneapolis while feet of snow piled up outside. She played Wurlitzer electric piano, sang and told some tales. Today, Viola Formica resides in Pittsburgh with her true love & muse, Jared Vincent, and their 2 cats, Kitty and Tinsel... ...and sings to her flowers... |
